"Reinsurance Cooperation Agreement" signed between Türkiye and Finland

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, in a post he shared on his social media account, stated that he had a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Finland, Ville Tavio, in Helsinki, where he was attending the 2nd Term Joint Committee on Economy and Trade of Turkey-Finland (ETOK/JETCO) Meeting.
Bolat pointed out that the economic and commercial relations that have developed with this country will be further developed with the contribution of public and private sector representatives, and made the following statements:
"As part of our meeting, we reached a consensus on increasing mutual investments and increasing bilateral trade volume in a balanced manner. We attach great importance to diversifying cooperation with the European Union (EU), which is our country's most important trade partner, and its member countries. In this regard, we discussed cooperation opportunities between Finland, an important partner in Europe, in the economic, commercial, technological fields and between our business worlds, and we comprehensively evaluated many issues, especially the Customs Union, green transformation, digitalization, defense industry, and entrepreneurship. We believe that updating the Customs Union will make significant contributions to our cooperation in the global arena. As Turkey, we are willing to cooperate with Finland in the fields of contracting and technology, and to work together on contracting and infrastructure projects in third countries."
"OUR FULL SUPPORT FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW PARTNERSHIPS"
Bolat emphasized that the economic and commercial partnership will be taken one step further with the Reinsurance Cooperation Agreement signed between the official export credit institutions of the two countries, Türk Eximbank and Finnvera, and said, "With the agreement, our companies will have the opportunity to benefit from more financing instruments and will be able to access financing more easily for our potential projects in third countries. As Turkey, we fully support the deepening of cooperation and the establishment of new partnerships between our business worlds and Finland. In this context, I hope that the JETCO Protocol we signed and our meeting will be beneficial for our countries."
Bolat, who stated that they also met with Turkey's Helsinki Ambassador Deniz Çakar during the visit, said, "I am very happy to be in Finland, our friend and ally in Northern Europe. We will continue to work with all our might together with our public and private sector representatives to develop trade and investment relations between Turkey and Finland."
